As Discussed at Lunch

I saw Highlander for the very first time this weekend.

In a nutshell, I don’t get it. I guess there might be some nostalgia value for people but seeing it with fresh eyes I don’t think it holds up as a good movie.

There are a lot of little things to complain about, but I think the general problem is that there is all of this talk about him having great power, yet he never actually uses any of power. Well except for fighting other immortals with great power, and then that power is really just making everything in a 100-foot radius explode.

But now that the character is established, maybe they make better use of him in the sequels. Can’t wait to see Highlander 2 & 3!
