Top Gear on 60 Minutes

March 31st, 2011 No comments

News to me, but 60 minutes did a peice on Top Gear last fall. I think they captured the spirit of what the show is all about pretty well. As Clarkson says about the three hosts “you can’t engineer chemistry, that just happens”.  Another reason the US version will fail.

Crunchy Nut Commerical

As discussed at lunch..

I hate this commercial for two reasons:

1. The amount of time it would take the guy to travel from his home in N. America to Asia, chasing the sun would be greater than the time it would take for the sun to rise where he is. It would be quicker and easier to just stay put.

2. The name of this campaign is, “It’s morning somewhere”. Right, so why can’t he just eat the cereal at night? Why does he have to travel around the world to arrive at breakfast time so he can eat it, the premise contradicts the message of the commercial.
